What is Lama Fera?

Lama-Fera is a union of two words. Both words have their own identity and significance. "Lama" means follower—one who follows the philosophy of Buddha, making it a part of their life from the core of their heart.

According to one tradition, a Lama-son goes to school at the age of five. His purification ceremony is performed for 21 days. From this day onward, Buddha’s philosophy and principles take the upper hand in his life, even over his mother. And then, he is a complete Lama. This tradition is according to older epics; it may not hold true today. Anyone who follows the principles and philosophy of Buddha earnestly is a true Lama.
According to an estimate, there are around 2,100 systems whose vestiges are still found among the Lamas. It is difficult to find them, and even more difficult to organize them in a logical way. It is due to the determined efforts of Mr. S.K. Saini that Lama Fera has come to us in a developed form.
Lama Fera is a powerful healing system that has been used since 620 B.C. Disciples of Buddha have been trying to treat and heal incurable diseases and problems of the soul. Over time, this system disappeared, but some Lamas still use it even today. To understand it fully, one must understand Buddhism deeply.
Once, it so happened that a woman was lamenting the untimely death of her husband. Buddha tried to explain to her the cycle of life and death, but she was inconsolable. Then Buddha told her to go and bring some grain of rice from a house where death had not occurred. She couldn’t find a single such house. She then decided to become Buddha's student and requested him to accept her. Until then, Buddha had no women students, for reasons unknown to us. She prostrated herself in his path and refused to move until he granted her the right to become his student.
Buddha then circumvented around the lady two and a half times. As soon as this was done, the lady got up and allowed Buddha to pass. This two and a half circumvention is called Fera, or the traditional Fera system. This is still practiced by a few Lamas today.
